FERPA Guidelines

If you share student data with unauthorized parties or use student data for unauthorized purposes, you may be in violation of U.S. government FERPA regulations and/or Bethany policy.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education. Before accessing student educational records, carefully review the FERPA guidelines presented on Bethany's FERPA Guidelines page. Maintaining confidentiality of student educational records can be achieved by knowing a few basic requirements of the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
