History of Lutheranism in America
RELG 370
This course covers the history of the Lutheran Church in its North American context, from the 17th Century to today. It is a study of an immigrant church and its growth in its new setting. Various key events in the history of Lutheranism in America are examined. Of special interest will be the history of Scandinavian Lutherans, which is in large part the history of our own synod, the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS). We will also examine the history of other synods in America today.
RELG370 is a 3 credit course.
